Auckland Council’s New Dog Policy – Have Your Say

dog policyAucklanders are invited to have their say on Auckland Council’s proposal to introduce a new dog policy and bylaw for the region.

Between Thursday 26 January and Monday 27 February, people can give their feedback on proposals that aim to harmonise the different rules inherited from previous councils and promote responsible dog ownership.

There are seven bylaws and policies the council administers with varying rules in different parts of the region, which can be confusing for the public.

And like any grand event it’s easy to get all swept up in the moment and next thing you know Fido’s in the mosh pit casting off his collar and overdosing on the scent of a thousand new bottoms.

Cat photographed with santaI was in a pet shop today buying nail clippers because for some reason I believe that new nail clippers will make Ed ecstatic about nail trimming (I’ll let you know how that goes). I was at the counter paying when the woman serving me casually asked if the dog would like his photo taken with Santa!

The Warehouse Petplan Wag ‘n Walk

Wag n Walk It’s Wag ‘n Walk time again and this year brings some changes. First it is supported by The Warehouse Petplan pet insurance and secondly there is a venue change to the Auckland Domain.

It’s not so much a walk as a complete super-fun day out for the entire family including the dogs. And if you don’t have a dog, don’t worry, everyone is welcome with or without a canine companion.
