This is a lovely self-contained cottage, like a hotel unit that offers the convenience of the close-by Dannevirke shops, only 1.6km's away, as well as a country feel.
The cottage has a comfortable Queen-size bed in the bedroom and a single bed with additional rollout single bed in the open plan lounge/dining area. There is space in the bedroom to fit a portable cot for a baby. The cottage will sleep up to four people. There is a sun-porch for your pet’s bed and the road we live on is a popular walkway. There is also a dog-park in town. (We have two cats)
Included in the cost is a basic continental breakfast with a choice of cereals, milk, bread for toast and tea, coffee and milo supplies.
The self-contained accommodation includes linen and has TV and DVDs, microwave, stove, fridge/freezer and a laundry. There is covered car parking.
Our name Huia Hytte reflects the dual heritage of the area. The Huia bird, now thought to be extinct, once made its home here and is sacred to Maori. Hytte is Scandinavian for cottage.
Sit back and enjoy the lovely views of the ranges from the sunporch. On and around our farmlet you will see cows, sheep, chickens, and ducks around the small pond. We have a selection of various sized gumboots for you to walk around the farmlet.
