Take the Lead Dog Training is owned and operated by Rachel Butler (formerly of Dog Sense Obedience Training Limited). Rachel has been involved with dogs and dog training for over 25 years, having assisted countless people and all breeds of dogs with basic to advanced obedience.
There are many factors that make up and influence the character of your dog - age, environment, routines, background, upbringing, family dynamics, other pets in the household, time available by owners - these are just the tip of the iceberg, so it makes sense to have a customised training programme for your special furry friend.
We offer a variety of personal dog training programmes for dog owners who would like to have a well behaved, sociable and happy dog, from puppies to adult dogs (no age limitations).
Using MODERN, POSITIVE TRAINING TECHNIQUES, Rachel can show you how to communicate with your dog, achieving mutual respect and understanding.
Manners will improve; your dog will learn quickly and you will gain an understanding of how your dog perceives its relationship with you, your family and the world they live in.
Programmes come with written handouts and lesson summaries, together with free email and telephone advice for the life of your dog.

susan says "Rachel helped us back in September/October with our puppy Indie. Rachel was fantastic, all 3 of the one on one sessions were so helpful, easy to follow and a lot of fun. Indie is a small dog and had a problem when other dogs came to visit, she would bark constantly. Within minutes Rachel showed us how to turn the situation around and Indie is now well socialized and loves visiting dogs. Also the skills we learnt calming Indie down when visitors arrive have been invaluable. Feeding guides were very helpful too. All up I would not hesitate to recommend Rachel to anyone wanting help with their dog training. "

Ruth says "I hired Rachel to help me with my little Terrier cross called Possum a few months back and found her to be excellent.
